I have a link in my post back to your post. If you click on that link, it
gives you a pop-up showing just that post rather than the whole thread
which is ok but I would prefer it show the whole thread while going to the
your post which I am linking. might be too much of a hassle to do this now
though. the other thing is that from the page that popped up showing
just your single post, if you click on the Thread title in the upper right
corner: "ANNOUNCEMENT OF IMPENDING CHANGES ON THIS WEB SITE" it will show
you the whole thread but no one's avatar comes up. if I go this thread
from the Announcements forum, everything shows up fine. weird. let me
know if you don't understand what I'm talking about and I'll try to
explain it better...

Thanks for adding the quick reply! This is really a great feature.

I changed my option to "wysiwyg editor", so I can see the smilies now. I was wondering if we should change the default to this in everyone's options so people don't have to do it themselves? Same thing with the private messages - I think everyone's private messages are disabled right now unless they went in to turn them on.

vbchat link works for me now, thanks

Here's another one for you Jeff - The biography question has a limit of 100 characters for the response, which is pretty small.

and here's two that ResonantEcho brought up in another thread:

When viewing user profiles there are two colons after custom defined fields in the additional information area. Example below:

"Why did you join this forum?::"

When receiving an e-mail notification of new replies to a thread the FROM line in the e-mail shows the following:

Jeff,

I have tried to fix the avatars, at least the most egregious ones where they are so huge that they distort the page completely. I have fixed about 75% of the avatars but there are a few that remain.

The private message thing is working. A number of people have sent me private messages that popup and ask if I would provide a receipt. Actually, it works quite well. We probably will need to expand the 50 message limit on the private messages because I suspect that a lot of people will hit that limit soon.

As I referred to above, I have added the feature that forces people to select the post that they are replying to when they use the quick reply. This supports the threaded structure of the posts. It does require an extra step but I think that it makes it so that people who use the threaded mode see who is responding to whom in a long thread. Many of our threads are quite long.

It appears that the link that I placed on the infopop carecure site is what is allowing people to see avatars but when people enter the site via the standard route without the number in the URL, they cannot see avatars. I think that this may relate to the privileges of the folders.

Great job, Monique and Jeff. You guys are life-savers.

Wise.

Jeff, I'm just going to post some misc issues here, which we can deal with later once all the major stuff is worked out.

-I think people are automatically getting logged out after a short period of time
-a lot of people seem to be having trouble adding their msn handle
-should we disable allowing guests to post?

I've seen these characters in a few posts on the new fourm. It's seems to be the code used for bullet points on the old forum.
EDIT: MSN handle does work - people need to enter their full email address (Thanks Jadis)

Some people are having trouble with the "Remember Me" when logging in (they still have to manually log in even when the "Remember Me" is checked). I don't know why. See here: http://carecure.org/forum/showthread.php?t=48647
