VERY impressive
Eric, how incomplete is Noah? Did he have any motor control below his level of injury before coming to see you guys? How's he do this w/o braces or any additional support? rock on. |

To Quote Noah from another of his posts: "i was injured 12/01/02, C7. had sensation in the first couple weeks, adduction and quads at 2 months, abs shortly thereafter"
His muscles have become strong enough to do this without braces etc. Braces act as an exoskeleton, and therefore do not allow your muscles to function properly. ![]() Eric Harness,CSCS Project Walk® |

Woohoo Bucky, your skilled use of hip flexors made me kinda hotttt. J/K (mostly). Lookin' great. I also like John lurking nonchalantly with the camera, saying to himself..."Yeah, I may get run over by this truck behind me, but I'm by golly gonna get this moment on film." Go Smiths!

Way cool Noah,
Just saw this on a poster at therapy, Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will not grow. "All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given you." Gandolf the Gray |

scott,
i started going to project walk full time at about 16 months post-injury. when i got there i could stand and take some steps but needed assistance picking up my right leg and tracking my feet. as you see from the video i now only need help with stability. my steps have improved a lot and so has my overall strength and coordination. i continue to work with the trainers on increasing that strength as well as standing unassisted. i can stand up to a minute now without holding onto anything. thanks everyone else for the kind comments and encouragement. beth, you're making this young guy blush! ![]() [This message was edited by buckwheat on 09-22-04 at 04:51 AM.] |

Noah,
It looked so wonderful to see you walking like that. I told your dad last night in chat that I was jealous, envious, and that it was sort of a bittersweet moment. And I couldnt help it but I was so nervous that your fingers were going to get slammed into the car door.

Noah,
Hey this is Ed. I know you from R.I.C. I'm friend's with Josh. It's been quite a while since we've talked. It is so awesome to see that you are regaining the use of your legs. You look great man. I'm jealous, I've really had no progress since my injury. Guess I'll always be in my chair. Keep it up buddy!! Ed T-10 complete 1/11/03 |
