Las vegas Trip

Hi I am a c5/6 quad, my girlfriend won a trip to Vegas & I was wondering
if anyone used the Home Health Services in Las Vegas for their Bowel Routines
Etc.
I have a list of Health Care Providers in Vegas & was wondering if anyone used them.
It's my first time flying since my accident, and am alittle nervous about how the cares will be done, as I don't want to have any problems.
My girlfriend will help me in getting up, but doesn't do any of the other cares.
We'll be useing Midwest Express, And staying at the Excalibur.
Has anyone had any experience with either of these?
The airlines said that they would stow the Power Chair (Gel Batt) in the front compartment. Am still nervous about that!?
Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.

My sister used to work for a Home Health Care Service in Vegas. I'll get the name of someone you can call.

When are you thinking of going?

not sure about Home Health, but I have been checking into hotels. I am hoping to go in late January or February. The Mirage and Bellagio even have lifts in a couple of the rooms, bedroom and bathroom. Most of the major hotels I have contacted all seem to be able to accommodate any disability and request within reason.

My biggest concern too is the airplane and what damage gets done to the chair.

Carl r, don't worry about nothing. I flew intercont, went to vegas for thanksgiving. They didnt my chair apart at ALL.......... They transfer you into a lil rolling chair, then transfer you into aisle chair. Hey you can go solo anywhere, flying with the friendly skies.... I loved that.

Flying w/ power chair

I don't use a power chair but if I was you...Get more confirmation on the stowing in the passenger compartment. Tell them how big your chair is. Get the name of the person you talk to. Get to the airport early and be prepared to fight to defend your chair. I've heard horror stories. MAD-P is right, you can fly anywhere solo. It is great. Do you intermittent cath? Time this carefully, you won't be able to on the plane. My dr. suggests an indwelling for long (like trans-Atlantic) flights. My friend says Vegas is way accessible, I'm dying to go. It's set up for oldsters with money-which sure works for me! Just some thoughts, have a blast, leave the ATM card and mortgage papers home! Betheny

Thanks for replying,I do have a sp catheter so no problem about cathing
on plane, just won't be pounding beers. We're thinking about going in
april or may.My biggest fear is having a bowel accident while we're there
so having an aide who knows what they're doing is important to me as i've had
aides at home who did a half-ass job and then had problems later.I feel
funny about explaining my routine and having a stranger help me,so it helps that the aide has experience with quads.I'm probably just getting myself
worked up for nothing, but ya'll probably know what I mean with that.
Anyway,thanks guys.If I win some bucks I won't care either way.

prior discussion on air travel

This link will take you to an earlier conversation on air travel that should be very helpful. I used the majority of the suggestions when flying to DC and never had any problems with my chair. Now that stupid isle chair is another story.
