Dove Huntin' Season just opened...

I took a few kids and their dads hunting here this week, since dove season opened on the first of Sept. What a hoot! I figured that it had been something like 39 years since I dove hunted as a kid.

The good news is that I am still a kid.

We are using the "you kill it, you eat it" philosophy... not to be confused with "if it flies, it dies" philosophy.

Hunting in a wheelchair is not without its problems. Really have to spot the birds when they fall, because you are not likely to bound out and pick the bird up.

I love to dove hunt! I hunted Sunday with a new group for disabled hunters (Dream Catcher Outdoor Adventures, Inc.) Very nice people. There where four disabled hunters and I was the worst shot of them all. I shot 50 times and haven't harmed a bird yet. Why the rest of the guys got there limit. I was just as happy for them as they where. I still would have liked to kill a least one bird. O well
