I've been to NBA, NFL and MLB games before but never to a NHL. I am determined to go this season. I'm crossing my fingers to see a brawl out at the game :X

Hmmmm. A goalie sporting the "C". I had to chech out NHL history on this one. Here is what I learned.

Only six goaltenders have served as team captains in NHL history. The Montreal Canadiens' Bill Durnan was the last goaltender to serve as captain in the 1947-'48 season.
Prior to 1948-'49, the NHL passed a rule prohibiting goalies to act as captain or assistants in what could be called the 'Durnan Rule.'
The Canadiens keeper left his crease so much to argue calls that opponents protested saying that Durnan's actions gave the Canadiens unscheduled timeouts during strategic points in games.

That's a very good point. I can see that being a problem.

And the Leafs won the Cup that year... yeah, like that's ever going to happen again!

WOW,,What a shocker that was, I love it, he is the leader on this team in every way already. Everyone said he should be the cap, but he can't cause he's a goalie. Right on AV & Gillis!

It's a stupid outdated rule that he can't wear the "C". 3 others have A's. Willie will talk to the refs if need be, & Ohlie to do ceramonial faceoffs, & Kesler to practice becoming the next captain.

Capt Loui I love it!
