Whole wheat banana pancakes with macadamia nuts on top, and 'gobbed' with butter and real maple syrup!

Mike, this is a cruel and unusual topic ... I'm trying NOT to think about this kind of stuff. Oh, but what the heck ... whole wheat pancakes made w/brown sugar and pecans pieces, butter, warm syrup (must be warm, no compromise here, some things are too important), with 3-4 thick slices of bacon floating in the warm syrup (love that flavor combo), and a cold glass of milk.

LOL
I have stopped wondering why so many Americans are getting fat. We eat the pancakes with a little blueberry marmelade or a little suger. And the pancakes are flat, just like the french crepes. TH 12 incomplete 12-12-69. |

When the boys were little and Randy made pancakes, sometimes he would put chocolate chips on right before he turned them over or else a more healthy idea is blueberries on top right before he turns, but my absolute favorite is peanut butter and maple syrup. Dont go ick, try it.

Depends on the season and the type of pancake.
With Swedish style pancakes, nothing beats a lot of real butter and lingonberries. With the lacy cornmeal pancakes I make or sour dough pancakes, real butter and real maple syrup (from Trader Joe's). With buttermilk pancakes made from scratch, fresh strawberries, blackberries or peaches. With oatmeal pancakes, I like boysenberry syrup (and of course real butter). When we were kids my mother would make pancakes by first making our initials with batter, then baking them just a little, then putting more batter on top. When done, the initials would stand out from the rest of the pancake. (KLD) |
