Ramen Recipe Database

I admit it, I still eat Ramen noodles every now and then.

Jim this is an excellent post. I was thinking about our college students and some of our other younger members on their own now. Ramen is inexpensive and easy to prepare--kind of the mac and cheese of my college days. The variations given here will make the dishes a little more interesting.

Thanks.

Heck yes, my fav thread yet!

I love oriental flavored Ramen, a sliced hotdog, and a slice of sharp cheese combined with a slight dash of garlic powder. YUM!

Living alone? Need to eat?

2 words: Ramen Soup

OK, seriously, if you don't want to make the sauce; just put olive oil, black pepper, and parmesan cheese on the pasta after you serve it, its called "poor man's pasta"... should be "lazy bastard's pasta"...

I was in college when I was injured, maybe that's why I still eat them. The little college town I lived in had a discount grocery store where you could buy a case of ramen for $3. They had every flavor and brand of Ramen there is, and a whole isle dedicated to them. My favorite was the Maruchan Hot & Spicy Picante Chicken.

They also had generic Mac & Cheese for 25cents a box, that was every bit as good as the name brand. I'd buy a pack of cheese slices and put a slice or two in with it to give it that extra cheesey kick.

The grocery stores here (Kroger & Wally World) only carry chicken and beef flavor ramen. Every now and then Wal-Mart will get some of the Hot & Spicy ones, and I stock up when they do.

As a poor starving college student, I learned that it is entirely possible to live on $5/month food & beverage budget.....
The key? Ramen Noodles and Kool-Aid
Lemme tell 'ya, I may not have eaten "well" but I ate every day and I had something tasty to drink

I still enjoy ramen noodles. I like the instant lunch ones in their own cup too, they're so quick and easy when ya don't wanna make a mess

True they're cheap but there isn't an ounce of nutrition in Ramen!
