Nitro Hobbies

anyone else do this? I have always wanted one and finally found one not too smashed but in bad need of being rebuilt. I have a HPI Savage SS full of titanium parts and a fresh 24.7 engine. I can push 40mph now and after tuning I should hit 50-55 with speed gears. I have finally got it to a point that I can run it without breaking anything and have fun!

what are you guys talking about? Sounds like cool stuff. Is the THS pipe for a two stroke engine? If so I want one.

i got a mammoth christmas 03 (since i wouldn't need any more ATV stuff any more since SCI!) and had it running for about 6 months until one of my dad's friends said he wouldn't go fast, and ran it right into a water hole. now it won't shift into second. recently, another one of my dad's friends said he would fix it for me. i tried to fix it myself once but i will never tear into that thing again! way too many small parts. give me a real car any day and i'll work on it! seems easier to me.

wheelie, Yes, we are talking two stroke engine powered r/c. The fuel is an alcohol based mix. If you go here you can learn about it.

jd, I use alot of locking plyers and magnetic tools for the small parts. My hands are not affected from sci but are from carpul tunnel from doing construction.

oh yah babey. im into big time. you saw our track in the pics section, thats in my backyard. i run a full supermaxx by unlimited eng, w/ a rb c5 and novarossi 053 1 piece pipe and i just bought a modded top .28 for it, and i have a kanai 3 buggy w/ full king headz hopups w/ a modded rex p5 and jp 2 1 piece pipe. but we race though so these rigs are on the high end.
i use my dewalt power screwdriver for teardown and assembly.
we buy maxxeys 30% nitro direct from the factory , 14 cases at a time, lol

oh, cool. I thought you were all talking about modifications to some type of wheelchair. Gimme a break, I'm new. I used to ride 2-stroke dirtbikes and know a lot about two stroke engines but probably not so much about the ones you guys use. Your's are probably a lot easier than the ones I'm used to. Yeah a pipe will make a lot of difference in performance. Running on alcohol must be cleaner than gasoline. How do you mix the fuel to lubricate the cylinder(s) though? Is there a seperate reservoir for oil or do you mix it with the alcohol? RC cars sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I am way mechanically minded and thought those days were over for me. This might be a cool hobby.

yup quad here. inc c4-5 decent grip though. it depends how quady one is. one of my favorite parts is teardown and assembly, so i probly wouldnt be involved if i couldnt independantly do everything the hobby involves. i use airtronics m8 radio here

i have a pullstart on my super maxx because u cant use a starter box on it. and i use a starter box on my buggy.

the fuel is premixed for nitro content u need. heck its easier to tune a dirtbike than to tune a highend rc race engine, untill your used to it. we tune by temp
