New chatroom 2/3/05

We upgraded to PHPOpenChat v3.0.1. Because the database is a new format, and because the registration is so simple, I've decided that we can re-register for this version. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Please try out the new chat. Click the "Chatroom" link at the top of the forum pages as always. This new version is almost identical in function to the previous version. Many of the improvements are at the system level and are not obvious to users. But it's a nice upgrade.

If you have problems or questions please reply here or email jweeks@rci.rutgers.edu.

Are there any quads out there who avoid the chatroom because they think they are holding things up?

I'm a C5/6 quad, and I must admit, I avoid using the chatroom as I feel I can't type fast enough, it takes me 30-50 seconds to answer a simple question, but if the person I'm chatting to is a para or abled bodied, they are alot quicker in responding.

Should I be bothered with the time it takes me to type, or just go for it!

Simon

simon, just go for it.
ppl who use the chatroom here understand why some chatters respond slower or faster than others.
alot of ppl carry on several conversations with-in the chatroom at the same time, so while waiting for a response from one person, they're probably chatting w/ others.....it's not like they're drumming their fingers and/or impatiently saying "c'mon, c'mon, hurry up" lol
jump in!

Simon,
if you enjoy using the chatroom, you should absolutely do so. Regardless of how long it takes you to respond.

Its okay to take your time. Everyone understands that this is an SCI board and that many people on the board/chatroom will take a while to respond. Chat away and don't feel bad.

you cant do any resetting of your options from the chat page but gotta go somewhere else to do it then back after you have changed it

the writing on the infopop stuff is too small to read
