getting around being able to get married while on medicaid

Is there any way to get around being on medicaid while getting married.

I guess getting married does cause some people to go onto Medicaid (if your spouse is a spend-thrift)!!!!

I think what you mean is there any way that getting married would not interfere with your Medicaid eligiblity. If your spouse is also disabled or unemployed, this might not be a problem as they might also qualify. If your combined incomes are over the threshold set by your state for either assets or income, you could definitely loose your Medicaid benefits (as well as SSI if you get it).

For this reason many people who depend on Medicaid do not marry. They either live together or do only a religious (but not civil) wedding. It sucks, but that is our system.
