Wiseor SCI Nurse: wasn't sure where to put this so I'll put it here
I have just been accepted, Monday, into law school in Michigan. Was wanting to pick your brain and check with you to see if you know of any scholarships that are specific to SCI persons and law school. I am checking the standard scholarship sites and will check with VR, which I dont think will be ny help. Although I will ask them about assistance with locating an apartment in Michigan and ways of paying for it.
If you have any thoughts on who or where I can check I would appreciate it. |

What law school, Cooley? There are a number of grants/loans/scholarships for individuals with disabilities. Although many are for undergrad, they are a good place to start for grad school as well.
You should be able to make a good case to VR for assistance on graduate school. I would suggest checking with the local Independent Living Center for assistance in locating accessible housing. sebastiang, there must be scholarships and other forms of aid available to people with SCI. I just looked through google but did not find much.
Can I suggest that you contact some of the personal injury lawyers? Many of their firms provide scholarships of various types and they might get some good press from offering scholarships to people with spinal cord injury. Wise. |
