I talked to my outpatient rehab place. It seems there was a girl that was trying to buy an older FES bike from them. For "liability reasons" they wouldn't sell it. They had a pair of braces there that fit me. They wouldn't sell me those either...
I believe that it would be invaluable to be able to buy a programmable FES device. You could get a bike program for it, or a sittup program, or leg lifts...etc.etc.etc. $10000 is too much for 95% of SCIs to spend. I personally got NO compensation of any kind for my injury. There was no determination of fault...luckily I had insurance, or I'd owe in medical expenses for the rest of my life. Eric Texley |
