Solid tires & to high Chair

I just got a Quicky Ti. I got a pretty good price on it. But, I never used the solid tires. They seem to be a little heavyer and they vibrate a little. Will they wear down the vib.? I think I would rather put air tires on the spinergy wheels.
The front of the chair is two inches to tall. What can I do to lower the front end? I have the light up casters. Can I get different forks for the casters?
Can you wheelchair experts help?
