An Inch of Air Space
Floyd,
I use a Roho. I was told to put your hand under the lowest part of your butt (the bony protusions) and make sure you have about an inch to an inch and a half of air space between that and the seat of the chair. I hope that is correct..... |

I think it depends on whether it's a high or low-profile cushion. With my low-profile, I was told to fill it till it arches slightly, then sit on it. Someone puts their hand under the lowest part of your butt and it should be around the width of two fingers, which I guess is about an inch.
I can't do that living alone (I'm a quad) but over the years, I've gotten to know what amount works for me. I have sensation, so I can tell if it's too low. But overfilling it can decrease or eliminate the pressure disbursing capabilities of the cushion. Perhaps you can get a Physical Therapist locally who's worked with seating to help? ~Rus "We are not brave because we are free.
