I need to find a SCI DR & Pain Management Drs. in North Port,Fla.

I am a sci quadraplegic about to move from Maryland to Florida on advice from my current Dr.here in Maryland,however he is unable to recommend a Dr.for me in the Sarasotta,North Port or Charlotte area of Florida.It was easier for me to have a home built down there than to find a longterm internal medicine and a pain mangement physician or possibly a neurologist.Any help from anyone here would be greatly appreciated.A rehab clinic is out of the question as my SCI condition is cancer related and I have graduated from
a pain management Dr. to a morphine pump,SO please if anyone can help please e-mail me or leave a message here for me...

I don't know of any Dr's in the Port Charlotte area as I live in Orlando, but if all else fails & you cannot find anyone in your area, there are a number of Dr.s in the Orlando area that would probably be able to help you out. Orlando is about 2-2 1/2 hrs from the Port Charlotte area. ALso Ft. Myers & NAples aren't all that far time wise from Port Charllotte nad you may have better luck there. There is a CLeveland Clinic in North Naples & I believe that they have Dr's that specialize in Spinal Cord Injuries also. I know that these would be quite a difficult circumstances and a time consuming trip but if it's your only choice I can try to get you some more information. Also I don't know if you have insurance or not, but just as a guideline, you can look on the Aetna web site for specialists and you may be able to find someone in that area through their site. I hope I've been of some sort of help for you. IF you need any more info I can try to find whatever you need.
