low sperm
i am a c-5/c-6 quad during my ingury my sperm count began to drop at this time it is zero,i will like to know is it because my off my condition,do quad develope this condition? i have next concern as to why this was happening,could this be because i in pampers to much,someone told me ,the pampers causing to much heat to encourage sperms development i will like some advise as to what to do.my wife wants a child.......

Here is a good resource on fertility and SCI men:
www.scifertility.com Frequent UTIs, epidydimitis and use of indwelling urethral catheters are most associated with low sperm count in men with SCI. It would be preferrable to manage your bladder with something other than padding for many reasons. Have you tried intermittent cath? Most men with SCI require some type of ART to impregnate their partners due to lower counts and other problems. This can be quite expensive, esp. for men with very low counts. Do you have the resources available to you for in-vitro or even ICSI? You might want to consider donor sperm or adoption as well. (KLD) |
