So we are not too scattered:

Those who already signed up in this thread could make their own reservations at the Washington Plaza Hotel @$129 per Bob's info.
That way they will be responsible for their own cancellations if need be.

Others who decide late or who want to remain more flexible may need to stay at the Hilton at Silver Springs (per cheesecake's suggestion), due to unavailability at the Washington Plaza Hotel later.

Or we could all decide to stay at the Hilton instead.....

Bob, I'm not sure, sorry. Check this out for now; I'll send an email out to some friends & see if I can get any more detailed info.

FYI, if anyone is considering Silver Springs & flying in, BWI would be a more convenient destination airport than Dulles.

Hi BigB,
I have a book that lists 3 hotels in Silver Spring. I am not at all familiar with the area though maybe someone else is?

There is a Holiday Inn listed that shows to have a roll-in shower. We usually have good luck with Holiday Inns but it's best to talk to the desk clerk to be certain it's ok. The rate shows $79 but rates usually vary somewhat. The # is (301)589-0800. It shows to be on I-495, exit 31B, 1 mi s. 8777 Georgia Ave.

The Hilton is listed also. I-495, exit 30B 1.5 mi s on US 29 8727 Colesville Rd. rates vary in the book $99 on up (301)589-5200
It shows to have a roll-in shower also.

The third is a Marriott, roll-in shower. Shows $144 on up on the rate. Directions kind of look confusing...I-95 exit 29B just e of US 29 off Cherry Hill Rd, 1 mi sw on SR 212, 1.8 mi w on Cherry Hill; I-495, exit 30A 4.3 mi n. 12521 Prosperity Dr. Phone# (301)680-8500.

Don't know if this will help.
I don't show a Travel lodge but that doesn't mean there isn't one...just not in this book.

If anyone is staying in places such as Silver Spring (no "s"), I would advise staying either near a Metro station or at a hotel with a shuttle. You do not want to drive into DC from the suburbs.

Bob - I would not recommend that hotel. Bad area and difficult to get into DC.

Try Arlington, VA (Rosslyn, Crystal City, Ballston)

Then, maybe I'll wait a few days to make reservations.I know I can always find something, but hopefully soon the committees will find 1 or 2 key hotels. If I have to sleep in a KOA campground I'm still going to be at the march

We are trying to make April 12th work. I just HAVE to be there.
