Do seasonal allergies make it hard to breathe?

I'm a C7 incomplete quad who is having a very hard time breathing. Both yesterday and today I started feeling kind of crappy, sneezing a lot with a sore, itchy throat. I obviously have issues with breathing because I'm a quad, but I don't usually have such a hard time. I imagine the crappy feeling is from allergies due to new allergens for the fall season, so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced breathing difficulties with seasonal allergies, especially quads? Basically, it's hard for me to take a deep breath and I feel like I'm going to pass out.

it's not SO bad that I need to go to the ER. Turning on the ac helped. I left the windows open last night, so maybe the ac cleared allergens out?

It might be seasonal allergies, especially if the ac helped. Please watch and make sure that you see your doctor if you continue to have problems. You also may want to see your doc if you notice these same symptoms occur when you go out and clear up when you go into the ac. There are simple medications and processes that might help you.

Seasonal allergies in October? Isn't that usually a spring/early summer phenomenon when the trees are blasting out pollen?

Not always, mine kick up more in the fall with the leaf mold and fireplace use. It is even worse when it rains and people are using their fireplaces.

I have COPD from asthma and have been havng real troubled for the past two years. I'm seeing a new doc about this on thursday and hope to god that I can finally get some help. I am getting really worried about only being able to breathe when I'm on my hands and knees.

Seasonal allergies can occur anytime throughout the year. It just depends on where you live and what you are allergic to.

Harvest time (grain dust etc) stirs up allergies for a lot of people here.

Short answer, YES, YES, YES. As the nurse said, it depends on what you are allergic to. Also, weather can impact air quality that can cause additional issues. Ry, an incomplete C-2 had severe asthma as a baby in Southern CA. We moved to rural VA before he was 3 and the asthma was gone. At 17 he was injured and went to Atlanta for rehab, in the summer. The asthma came back big time. Any time outdoors (ten minutes was more than enough) required three days of intense breathing treatments. He still needs support in the summer at home if there is something that triggers. We had a fire in the Great Dismal swamp last summer that was a BIT$& for him. I

See your doctor. Maybe you need some support for your breathing at times. Breathing is so basic to life that you do not need for it to be an issue for you when there are meds available that can make it easier and more importantly, help you get the O2 you need.--eak
