Lieing about how you were injured.

Well Not that I am ashamed about how I was Injured it just seems to lead to more questions that I just dont want to talk about with people or strangers. My close friends Know what happend to me but people I just me or neighbors ask me how a young man like my self is in a wheelchair. A over a year ago I was dating a girl that had got out of a bad relationship. I had met her ex once I never had a cross work with him. Well I leave her apartment one night and he had slashed on of my tires and I saw him running up to my car with a gun! My car was shot 6 times and I was shot once in the back as I was driving out of there. And get this nothing was broke in my spine! But I still didnt escape a spinal cord injury. But when you tell people you were shot they look at you as a gangbanger or a drugdealer or someother kinda bad guy. Even If I do tell the truth the number one question is are you still with the girl lol. I had some old guy at the local autoparts store ask me not how it happend just were you in irak or did I crash a motorcycle? I didnt feel like talking to him and the way he asked kind rubbed me the wrong way So i just said yeah a motorcycle and kept going on my way. I had another neighbor ask hey were you in a car accident? I just nodded becase I was with a friend of mine at the time and I did not really feel like explaing it. Is this wrong?

In my opiniOn no it's not wrong. It's no one business unless you decide to make it their business. I hate it when people ask me why I'm in a chair I usually just say I was born this way because this is the way God wanted me. I find that my friends don't care how it happened most don't know and they don't ask they don't see my chair they only see me. Strangers ask me a lot which makes me sick. I would rather a friend ask than a stranger.

Exactly.

Or I cough a little and tell them my doctor said I should no longer be contagious after another two weeks.

Its not painful really to talk about. And as crazy at it seems I am now a magnet for people not that its a bad thing or Im antisocial or anything. Just when I say I was shot I get that "oh" well why were you shot? Like I was a robber or something. its hard to explain But I feel that saying you were shot is kinda a bad first impression?

Well I mean if you were on the other side how would you feel after hearing someone was shot? If I am with someone and they say they have been shot well yea I'd want to know whet happened I don't want to be in danger of being shot what if your a drug dealer and had people after you? I wouldn't want to be around a drug dealer or criminal and if that's why you were shot I'd want to know

What do you expect them to say? Innocent people do get shot but not as much as criminals that's why people want to know what happened. If you don't want questions about it come up with an accident or something. When you say shot of course that makes people curious

I tell little kids I didn't listen to my mother. I rarely tell adults anything b/c I think it is damned bad manners for randos to ask. If they aren't randos they already know!
