Rowheels available early next year!

Hi everyone. I'm an engineer and a fellow SCI (C5-6). I invented Rowheels and have been working hard to bring them to market. In the next couple of months the Rowheels beta prototypes will go through clinician and user testing as well as durability testing through a RESNA certified lab. After that we will make design changes based on test result and user feedback and start with the commercial version.

So we are far enough along where I would like to start getting some initial feedback, impressions and/or constructive criticism from the user community.
Below are links to the website so have a look and tell me what you think. Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I really like the idea of pulling backwards instead of pushing forward...you need a video of a user actually DOING it as it is hard to imagine.

Are you going to be at Atlanta event? which one?

Congrats on your invention, award and progress. The weight on the site says 5 to 6 pounds that is for both wheels? Also a video of someone with these on a chair in use would be great....Do you have a target price for a set of these?

That's a very interesting concept. The sorts of things I thought about while watching the video were, in no particular order:

1) simplicity is what I like so there is less to go wrong. Is the wheel simple? Can grit or dirt bugger the system?
2) robustness - wheels and chairs take a lot of work eg going up and down kerbs - so the wheel needs be proven to be as robust as eg Spinergy
3) price - for me to consider purchasing the wheel it will either need pricing to a similar level as a standard wheel or I will need to have damaged my shoulders in order to pay a premium to get rid of the pain.

It looks a good idea and I wish you success.

Pete

I can't envision how this works. I'd need to see a video.

I saw that video I think you need someone in a chair demonstrating them. So you push forward to go backward? or do you flip a lever?

Thanks

Interesting idea.
Why does the demonstrator adjust the hub?
How do I get to try they? I'm in Florida. I could beat them up for you.
