Exclamation It is that time again....

Yep, I am back at the old school schedule game starting Monday . I am NOT ready for this crazy schedule this semester!! I don't know how I am going to juggle all of my doctors appointments, classes, teaching, and my pain. Just thinking about it I am starting to have a panic attack . I mean really, how am I supposed to do well with 15 hours of course work, student teach, and fit in multiple doctors appointments??? I am slowly loosing my mind!!!!

Hold your horses Becky
Slowly but surly you will get there, i see it as a case of motivation, are you or are you not motivated to continue the course and do well. the rest is just a time management programme.

is there a reason why you didnt scale back some? did you talk to your professors beforehand about what's going on?

All of my professors know what is going on and have all been extremely understanding, helpful, etc.. The main reason that I haven't scaled back is because this is scaled back. Up until this semester, I have taken as much as 20 credits at a time. This should be easy, in contrast. The main issue is that school starts tomorrow and I don't have a concrete schedule of times/days etc so that I can start planning appointments around that. So I have a very strong feeling that everything is just going to crash and burn once I get my finalized schedule. As far as motivation, I am extremely motivated to finish!!! I have been working on this bachelors degree for almost 15 years!!

well you know you cannot handle 20 credits per semester with chronic pain. hell, i am a science major and dont do that many credits in a quarter(we only get 10 weeks). so take it a day at a time. not sure why you dont have a concrete schedule yet but once you do, just make the appointments. imho, planning ahead at least with your classes is key to survival for ppl with chronic pain. eg getting materials early and studying

15 hours is a lot! I don't know how you managed 20, I could not have done that in my AB days, so kudos to you for having accomplished it...with student teaching and doctor appointments, 12 hours would be a challenge - but that's just me. I know you're anxious to finish your degree, and I wish you all the best in the world with your education and the planning it involves.

20 hours was definitely stupidity on my part!!! I realize that now but I needed to do it so that I could graduate in a decent amount of time. Being a music ed major, we have to complete a total of 144 hours of course course work, in comparison to most other majors of 120. And most of these classes are only 0,1, 2, maybe 3 credit hours each. So that is about 10 courses in a semester. COMPLETE INSANITY!!!

I actually was supposed to start classes this past Monday but I ended up in the hospital with an intestinal blockage . Not a good start to this semester... I also realized that in addition to the 15 hours of course work I have registered for, I have to finish 5 courses that I had to take incompletes in the last few semesters due to my having surgeries. AHHHHHHH!!!! This is just seeming more and more impossible!!!!

Yikes! I'm sure your professors will work with you, but wow, that's a lot to do.

They have been working with me and very understanding/helpful. I think that is why it is just seeming impossible at this point because I don't know how much more they can do...

i've got to complete 185 credit hours. almost there! lol but also need to finish incompletes, getting another job to pay off some medical debt but also just trying to graduate before we switch over to semesters as it'll be just that much harder to take classes in a semester system.

you just gotta take it one chunk at a time! have profs extend incompletes until you're done
