Osteoporitic?
Hello,
I am a c4 c5 quad for over 30 years. I need to rebuild my skeleton. I had a blood test and my vitamin D was low. I now take a 50000 IU of vitamin d each week. I used a tilt table every other evening for about two hours at a level of around 60°, perhaps a bit higher. My skeleton was deemed to be osteoporotic. That is kind of in between regular and osteoporosis. Will my current routine improve my skeleton? I intend to add a vibrator to my footboard on my tilt table. It will be my experiment in whole body vibration to see if that will increase my skeleton strength. Are there any opinions out there? I seek answers from all whom it all whom they offer them. My calcium and magnesium intake is sufficient to gain skeleton. I currently am about 1.5 g per day, however, I need to beware of ever-present risk of kidney stones. I have had them before (earlier in my injury) and I do not want to get them again. I do understand the importance of calcium and magnesium as a pair in the human body. For those who read this on my also tell you that potassium and sodium are also another pair in the human body. Most visceral tissue and muscles involved one or both of these pairs in functioning. The SCI population can do well to study the effect of these two pairs upon human functionING. Please assist me if you know anything about my questions. FuturewalkER
