Angry I might as well just light myself on fire :( :(

It's after 3am here, yet again. I can't do this anymore !!!! I try to explain to my family, my doctors, any one who will listen that I am not able to fall asleep until usually around 6am most days. I then sleep until about 8 and have to take my insulin (I am also a type 1 diabetic) I then try to go back to sleep for an hour or so and nobody still can understand why I am tired all the time. And even being tired all the time, I can't fall asleep at a decent hour because of this horrible pain in almost every part of my body.

I've lately been thinking that doucing myself in gasoline and lighting myself on fire wouldn't be so horrible since that is how I feel anyway. I just want to be out of pain for one small moment in time!!! I also would like to just have, at least one person, understand what the hell I am talking about and not think that I am making all of this crap up to get out of x,y, or z.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! Nope..... that didn't help.......

Becky

sorry your feeling that way.
do you ponder on sad or fearful thoughts prior going to sleep?
a change in mood swing does help me to relax and sleep well.
i have a stinging pain 24/7 which i have accepted as now part of me.
when my time is fully occupied and focused on other things, i tend not to notice it
i understand you, wish i could hug you for comfort but it will get better

Hi Becky, I have what you have and my daughter is a type I diabetic so I understand the additional burdens of that disease. Hang in there and try not to worry about the others think. Their approval is not necessary.

Wish I could give you a hug. Being tired seems to make mine worse so its a vicious circle, cant sleep because of pain, and pain is worse the next day because of tiredness. Would strong sleeping pills help?

I wish there was something I could do

What are you taking for pain?

Of course, sleeping like that is unsustainable. And it makes your pain worse.... to not be able to sleep.

Sorry to hear things are so hard.

I have same sleep prob/sched you do...
You might try taking melatonin to make up for what ur body doesn't get a chance to make...between hrs of 10-12pm is when you make the most of it(asleep b4 then )

My nephew is type 1 also...do you have an insulin pump?

I got over trying to help people understand pain...

Becky, it is awful for you to be going through this and you need relief ASAP. Is there a pain management clinic within a reasonable distance? Your surgeon doesn't seem to be doing much to help, and it's also pretty clear that you're suffering from central pain in addition to what is going on in your abdomen. I so hope that a way can be found for you to be treated by a well coordinated medical team.
