rjg do you have any idea what it takes to get in the ring? I don't know if you are injured or not. but I assume you are and for that I am sorry. I boxed or tried to at the PAL level and got my ass handed to me too many times to count after the first time you know what your in for. Oh by the way I'm an engineer now no brain damage. My point is it takes courage, this man is a member of the military I believe West Point again I believe no brain damage there. Why bash a man fighting for a cause? because you think he fights for a false prophet. And if you watched the Liston, "Clay" fight 1 you would know that of all his opponents Ali despised Liston and wanted to beat him more than any other fighter. Liston took a dive because he bet on himself. you don't even know this man and disparage him are you kidding me? Really, so all you guys who are anti Wise keep it up maybe he will fold and you will get your way. I don't know if his way is right or wrong, I just know he cares and tries.

I take it nobody got the Walcott joke, or the subsequent palookaville reference to "On the Waterfront", mocking the ridiculous implication that a well-meaning boxer has released trial results...

@Wise: I'm not interested in judging the trial, but I get your message. Watch the video's, read the advertisements and don't bother to ask questions until after all the entertainment has been exhausted.
If you are going to question the man's ethics, do it openly, rather than burying it in a post you edit 20 hours later.

Grammy,

Boyd did not release the results of the trial. Please wait until the paper is published before judging the results.

Wise.

We all got it the first go round.

The guy made a claim that 25 per cent of the people walked. Either he made it up or someone told him. Perhaps if this information is still confidential (or is inaccurate) he should be told to be more careful.

PS: It now seems as if the original wording has been changed so someone has gone back to him and said "you shouldn't have made that claim." Interesting

Grammy,

Thank you for catching the statement by Boyd. I didn't know of, encourage, or approve the statement. It is inaccurate and does not represent the clinical trial results.

Wise.

You are most welcomed. There would be no reason to jeopardize the trial at this late date.

It should be noted that what many of you perceived as an insult to this Melson character was intended as more of a biting commentary on the state of funding for sci research vs. funding for other conditions. I appreciate what he's doing for sci. And not to brag, but I donate every penny I make from my internet commentary to sci research - I just don't go out of my way to publicize the fact. So who's the real hero here?

Also, who do I need to petition to get a dementia pugilistica sub-forum here on carecure? "Brain injury" is mighty generic.
