As Betheny aptly stated, the horse has left the barn. Too many guns. Too much violence. Too many broken hearts.

When was the last time you heard of a drive by knifing?

Unfortunately people will find guns no matter the law... Unfortunately, all they need is the the impetus to get their hands on them

Lord I'd forgotten how many ppl I "know" who got capped, randomly or with intent. The internet number is staggering. Almost all Americans too.

But man, give up your guns and we'll be Palestinian, throwing rocks at tanks. Do Not Want!

PN-I'm wondering if the horse has gotten out in Canada too. What do you think?

We need to keep heavy firing arsenal out of the hands of sociopaths. You don't need to shoot 30 rounds to protect yourself.

This is what sparked the militia outbreak, thankfully aborted by that madman McVeigh. Note to self: Remember your history lest you be doomed to repeating it.

That taught me why we have the right to bear arms, it all went back to Waco TX. One must never trust one's government.

Or hunt animals.

High capacity, semi-autos have no place in society. And if
we are going to allow ownership of these weapons, people
should be screened prior to purchase and kept in a database.

Here's what he had on him.

I would ban semi-autos without question.

There's the rub. Define sociopath. McVeigh looked like a good ol' boy hauling fertilizer. Military background, not stellar but ok. And when he went in the Murrah building to do recon, he missed the freaking DAYCARE. Way to go there, soljah boy.

Now I'm not saying ppl should take their babies to Batman movies. Just that this level of mindfuckery can go undetected. If you dodge a bullet in Canada, I wonder what they're shooting up there?

It is driving me crazy, I saw this a.m. that media contacted the shooter's mom in CA, and she said "Yes. You have the right person. I need to fly to Colorado."

This is haunting me for obvious reasons. And where did she go?

There's an encrypted website, you can order rpg's, autos, whatever. It was on deadspin a couple of days ago. The mailman brings them to you in pieces should you care to give your financial data to some shady Ukrainian or whatever.

in absolute agreement with you there LTF... Easier said than done tho... If it exists it will be acquired by those who desire them...

As an aside. I had a friend in college who left his country (Switzerland) because it was mandatory for people his age to do military service... This was around the same time as the Bosnian conflict in the late 80's early 90's... As you can imagine he was scared he was gonna have to do his part. I don't remember the exact details or even if it's still in force. I haven't met many swiss people since, and I unfortunately didn't keep in contact with him.

I have seen from time to time vids on youtube by those advocating gun ownership rights that because owning a gun in switzerland is mandatory, because of the mandatory military service, their gun crime rate is one of the lowest on earth of any country...

Now I'm no gunslinger or strident advocate, but it makes sense to me (sort of) that trying to keep guns out of the hands of the few to protect the many - doesn't work, and never will because its impossible to keep something out of the hands of someone who desperately wants it.

that guy also had a 100 round canister on his ar-15

also noted, he dyed his hair red and told police "I am the Joker"

4 guns, but one was left inside the front of the vehicle- he was kevlar'd from toes to tits (neck guard, groin guard-he didn't want anyone else taking him down) I bet his plan was to off himself in his car.

I can't wait to find out what's in his boobytrapped apartment.

Ohhh, good dish Feisty. I'm torn between whether it would be more convenient had he succeeded. My wrath says no, it's a coward's way out. When my kid's teacher murdered his classmate he offed himself and I'm still pissed. I wanted some vigilante justice. Always have, always will.

Not to mention 9-11 etc. Vengeance is mine sayeth Betheny.

Mutley-Yep. See: Norwegian nutjob. He wanted some dead ppl. He got 'em.
