C. diff After Stopping Antibiotics?
Can you get Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea (CDAD) after you've stopped taking antibiotics?

I just found this and the answer is yes, up to 2 months after taking antibiotics......especially cephalosporins (Cefadroxil - Duricef, Ultracef, Cefazolin, Ancef, Kefzol, Cephalexin, Keflex)
"CDAD must be considered in all patients who present with diarrhea following antibiotic use. Careful medical history is necessary since CDAD has been reported to occur over two months after the administration of antibacterial agents." http://www.rxlist.com/keflex-drug/wa...recautions.htm |
