What holistic health programs are you using?
I was intrested in different ideas on things to avoid typical medical care (ex. foods, vitiamins, exercise, massage, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING).

What specifically are you wanting to address that complementary alternative medicine (CAM) or holistic programs could help with?

Help with my spasms. Anything that will help with prevention of the common aches and pains of daily living in a chair. I know this is a very broad question but through reading the posts of others I have learned alot even when some of these posts do not directly apply to me.

My Dad really likes massage (could help your spasms and pain), Tai Chi... and anything that gets him moving helps.
He got a Groupon for massage, and really enjoyed it. It's pricey though. |

Standing table and/or PT for spasms. L-Lysine for mucous membrane cell health. Extra Vitamin D after a blood test for bone and other issues. Align as a probiotic. Mediatative deep breathing.

I echo many of the posts above. In regards to yoga, there are a growing number of classes specifically geared to spinal cord injured individuals. Make sure you check out the class. Restorative or chair yoga classes are good ones to look for. If you have hardware in your spine to stabilize it, do not engage is yoga moves that hyperextend your neck/back.

I second probiotics..a MUST for me daily...and for pain..find out what foods to avoid...that could trigger inflammation..invest in ALCAT test if you can..so it is personalized for you. also try the "the Ultimate meal" once a day..cut out sugar and refined foods of course and exercise of any kind..movement and stretching help spasms..less movement for me== more spasms. stretch all day.
I am still learning re the vitamin thing..but started taking resveratrol ultra and lifepak nano..getting older need all the help I can get!
