Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, NV

I just posted a couple of pictures of an accessible room at the Bellagio in Las Vegas in an album my profile section. We just stayed there 5 nights and they have invested $80M in upgrades to the hotel, some of which are improving and increasing the HP rooms. Very nice place.

Steverino, That would be GREEN. They are just about giving money away at the blackjack tables. The mathematical laws of probability are temporarily suspended when I roll into town, lol.

Also, the bed height was lowered to about 22" so transferring with a slide board was much easier and the head of the bed went up and down like a hospital bed. I didn't request anything but an HP room with a roll-in shower. We've probably stayed there 10-12 times over the years and it seems they finally fixed some of the HP room oversights. My only criticism is that the climate control panel was tucked away in a corner with a table and 2 chairs in front of it.

Wow, very impressive to see both Hoyer Lifts! I travel for work 3 of 4 weeks a month and have never seen an accessible room so advanced. Kudos to them for going the extra mile! Now if only we could get large hotels to use more lightweight carpet in the hallways!

What does HP actually stand for? I do like the room though. I may stay there next time I'm in vegas.

HP = Handicap

The rooms are nice, the hotel is beautiful and it's location on the strip is ideal.

Room # 27025. We stayed in the main tower, not the Spa Tower. However, the casino marketing fellow I spoke with said several of the HP rooms have been upgraded on each floor. Also, we booked 2 Queen size beds instead of a King. I don't know if the King size beds have a back that goes up and down.

Mac85, the prices vary depending on the time of year. Weekends are typically most expensive (LA crowd, MMA fights, Boxing, events, etc.) and table minimums will be higher. Generally you will pay $150-250 per night plus tax. Also, you have to make reservations in restaurants or you will waste your time waiting in lines or wandering around looking for a place to eat. Same with shows. Go to http://www.vegas.com/ to plan your stay.

There are plenty of other places to stay that may be cheaper but I have found the Bellagio to be the best for my needs. Call around to some of the other hotels and ask about their HP accommodations. There may be someplace that is a better value like, Flamingo, Harrahs, Imperial Palace, Planet Hollywood, Bally's. They are all a little older and run down but in a great location on the strip. I've gambled in all of them and stayed in none of them. Downtown is another option. The table games are very good (2 deck, hand held blackjack, low table minimums) but I've always had a hard time getting a HP cab back to the strip from there and it's infested with some pretty seedy characters.
