isildur, Don't worry about your English. Your are very clear.

There has not been all that much new information since you last posted here before Christmas. Several people have reported some progress after they have had their OEG transplants and there have been excitement about combination therapies but no hard information yet concerning new clinical trials or results from any of the existing clinical trials. A lot of the discussion is focussing on how to get clinical trials off the ground in the United States.

In upcoming 2 months, there should be several new bursts of information:
 1.
At a clinical trial workshop in Vancouver on February 20-21, about 100 of the world's scientists and clinicians interested in clinical trials will be meeting to discuss the best therapies. I think that there will be spirited discussions of the results of that meeting.

By March, I am anticipating some clinical trial results to be reported. For example, hopefully there will be news of acceptance of the Beijing OEG and the Lisbon OEG results before that time. Acorda may also report the results of their first 4-AP (Fampridine SR) trial sometime towards the end of March.

New clinical trials. There are reports that olfactory ensheathing glial cell transplants and stem cell transplants are being done in Poland and in Novosibirsk (Russia). There should be more information coming out regarding these trials in the coming months.

Results of Combination Therapies in animals should be published in the coming months. These include a study from University of Louisville (Xu, et al.) reporting efficacy of GDNF and chondroitnase in promoting axonal growth through Schwann cell bridges; a study from Miami Project (Bunge, et al.) combining Schwann cell transplants, db cAMP, rolipram; and a study from UCSD reporting combination therapies with cell transplants (perhaps Schwann cells or bone marrow) with probably rolipram as well.

Please keep checking in whenever you can.

Wise.
