My 11 year old Tilite TR

Here's a few pics of my Tilite TR that I've had since 2001.

Worth for money, still function very well? Any issue?
All scratches look nice.

The only issues so far have been the worn through footrest and a loud popping/cracking sound lately.

Footrests, at least, are easily replaced.

I talked to Tilite today and the guy told me some things to try and check, so hopefully one will stop the noise. Yes, I run solid tires and have to because I work at a place were there's metal shavings all over the shop floor.

I got a price a couple years ago for a replacement footrest at around $350.00. I just got a friend to insert a piece of stainless steel tubing inside the footrest and it has held up pretty well.

It looks to be in great shape except for the footrest and scratched up handrims.

I'm guessing/hoping the popping is from the spokes. Do they need adjusting/replacing? A bike shop could tell you quickly. Do you have another set of wheels to try?

The Tilite tech. seems to think that the popping may be the result of my changing from 5" casters to 4" caster which is causing my chair to bind up since my chair was built for the 5" casters. He said that once I put the 5" casters backl on it should stop but if not, then I may have a craked frame inside the camber tube mounting brackets. I really just need a new chair, at least that's what I'm telling myself.

Do your handrims really have no scratches?
I have no idea how some of you keep your chairs so pristine.
