Quickie 2 lite----fragile caster fork

After a month or two, my friend riding on his Quickie 2 Lite, and accidentally run into a hole on the road few days ago. And the caster fork was distorted, alignment was out.

I wonder is it so fragile of the caster fork?

Check the bolt through the wheel. It might be bent, twisting the fork.

That looks like the bolt is over-tightened, not from an impact....

I would think the caster-barrel mounting would slip out of alignment long before the fork would bend. Try realigning the barrels.

If the proper spacers are in place, axle bolt can (and should) be very tight. The spacers create a continuous, rigid annulus between internal bearing rings, thus automatically aligning them with the outer bearing rings when the axle bolt is tight.

I found bearing is not properly fit to the hub.

The fork did bent, my friend tried to straighten it, but not much help.

I check the mounting, it is firm, nothing wrong.

I read the manual, it said the chair shouldn't ride on rough surface or terrain, but I don't think it is so fragile.

I always jump curb on my GTi, but the fork is still fine.

So my friend add some washers to push the caster fork to it's normal position. But it does not work well.

Do you think my friend can claim for warranty ?

This caster fork is the same type of my GTi, how can it be so fragile? I wonder what caster fork is the guy who do wheelchair backflip using? How can his caster fork stand all the impact of all the falls.
