DD for mac book pro

I need speech recognition and Nuance is bouncing me back with different phone numbers to talk to sales then tech to download the software. I understand outsourcing but I'm highly frustrated.

Would you recommend DD as your source for voice recognition.

I'm also trying to get back into the easy use of a Mac vs. PC and am failing.

Technology used to be so simple...

I use Dragon Dictate on my Mac running Snow Leopard. I prefer using Apple's Boot Camp instead of VMware or Parallels when operating Dragon NaturallySpeaking because it is a full-blown Windows machine.

If you need voice recognition, then my recommendation would be to get Windows 7 and purchase Dragon NaturallySpeaking. If you end up with Dragon Dictate, I can navigate you towards some video basic learning instructions. Also, I have found the accuracy to be a little bit better with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and I think it is also more intuitive.

I just bought Dragon 2.5 for my Mac and it works really well. Prolly wouldn't have bought it but they called me on phone with a special upgrade price and it was hard to resist.

I love using my iPhone as a wireless mic.

A few weeks back, I did receive a call from Nuance offering to sell me Dragon Dictate 2.5. I patiently listened to the sales pitch. Then I stated that I thought that 2.5 was a free upgrade. The salesman told me that I was wrong. He also went on to tell me about the special price. I told him I would think about it, and then I hung up the phone. So, I go to my Mac and open Dragon Dictate. Lo and behold, I already have 2.5 on my machine. Then a few days later there was an update for 2.5. I am not on my Mac otherwise I would post a screenshot. I purchased Dragon Dictate 2.0 upgrade on December 20, 2010.

Liz, I hope you didn't get snookered.

Hey PN
No I hadn't bought the voice recognition software in many years. Last copy I had was the old Mac Speech. I'm sure they will be getting better and better with the programs. I trying to remember all the commands they are different than regular Windows ones

#3 Voice commands and mouse grid was ok, all others I know. However, I saw a link to their "cheat sheet". and that is great! I'm sure there are more in the user manual. I guess my point I'm trying to get across is that I think 2.5 works much better than the Mac Speech version, previously used.
