this is feistys brother, have a question about a bruise while on blood thinner/warfarin. at what point do you need to go to doctor for a bruise? how severe does it need to be before a doctors visit is warranted? especially if its on your thigh? sci nurse please advise. thank you.

Is there a lump associated with the bruise? How many days ago? Fading or what?

Not unusual to bruise easily while on a blood thinner.

If there is not an injury that should cause a bruise, or if there is a lump, or if the area is warmer than the rest of the leg, go to the doctor as soon as possible.

If you bonked it and have a bruise that is healing normally, no problem. Blood thinners can cause bruising that is more pronounced that normal for you but sudden, unexplained bruising should be seen by the doctor.--eak

If she suffered a fall it would be worth getting an xray as paralyzed bones can be weak.
