How long have you been managing your bladder with clean intermittent catheterization (CIC)? Have you changed the type of catheter you are using? Are you using enough lubricant?
Sometimes catheters can create a false passage in the urethra which will bleed quite a bit. There are some other complications of CIC that can cause bleeding. If you have ruled out a urinary tract infection, and the profuse bleeding persists, you should see your urologist for a cystoscopy and possible a renal ultrasound with includes studies of the kidney, bladder, ureters and urethra. All the best, GJ |
