That number is going to vary enormously, depending on the chair being classified an ultralightweight, lighweight, or standard model. Options such as elevating legrests can add a lot of weight, as can a recline/tilt back.

Hi "WCmom,"
If you know the maker, model name and/or number, you can find the website for the company by searching the company name on the internet. Once at the company site, find the model you have and look or search on the site for "specs" or "specification." Most manufacturers will state the weight of a chair along with basic dimensions. Of course, in many cases there are options and add on for each chair. For instance, the manufacturer may state the weight of the chair without footrests, because they offer 2 or 3 footrest configurations.

Another way to find out the actual weight of your specific chair is to find a hospital, rehab department, or possibly even a veterinary clinic that has a platform scale. Ask to weigh the chair on the platform scale while the chair is unoccupied. Then you will have the total weight of your individual wheelchair with footrests, cushion, seat belts, pouches, etc.

All the best,
GJ

I just read another thread you started about your son's equipment. Here is a link to Colours Razorblade Jr. that gives the basic weight of the chair as 17 pounds. Now you have to add the weight of the custom seating from Freedom Designs and all the additional equipment that may vary from the basic model.

I know how much my chair weighs lol We had it weighed on one of those wheelchair scales at a dr. appt. The 17lbs is without wheels or seat. I wanted to know how much YOUR chair weighs. Looking up specs means nothing when you add in all the extra parts. So, again, how much does YOUR chair weigh?

Sorry your question was misinterpreted.
My chair Invacare TDX-SP + power tilt + cushion + stuff = 302 lbs.
