Distributing weight gain

I am 99% sure there is no satisfactory answer to this question, but is there a way to direct your weight gain to where you want it to be? Of course I know I want to build muscle rather than fat, and I'm working on that, although I desperately need to increase my weight bearing options (any ideas other than all I've managed so far – standing partially weight-bearing; and going back to the gym and managing about two thirds the range on the chest press and butterfly, with 5 pounds?). I was in the hospital and really out of it in March, and I think they may have forgotten to feed me, because I could swear the bed weighed me in at 89 pounds before I left (last seen at age 10?), and I looked pretty emaciated when I got home.

Somehow my grandmother's arms never left me, and my thighs are starting to get thicker again. But my face still looks really drawn, and I can't fill the bra size I've worn since I was 15. Is there way to encourage the renewing mass to go back to these places first?

this doesn't help but it's REALLY funny: http://www.theonion.com/video/today-...e-appea,18030/ but seriously - I left the hospital @ 115lbs down from 180. I could not gain weight, but once I did I made sure to include as much exercise as I could to be actually *healthy* it sounds like you are on the right track with the gym.......
