Alternitive to "them"

Hey,

I deal with MS, been for a while and now I'm on my back for a good portion of the day in bed. It's a temp thing and I have been dealing with my first instances of "incontinence" It's a temp thing, but I am having a harder and harder time dealing with this. It's not urinary and I don't want to go into details, but even though it's a fact of life and who cares....I use those tape up pants....you know.

I'm not very comfortable in those and it is irritating..... I itch and it's to hot.

Has anyone an idea to something that works so I can avoid those?

We are working on a solution to get me back with a solid program fo rthis, but right now I haven't much luck. I was hoping this was just another "hit and run" MS symptom been a few weeks though and I'm tired of it.

Thank you.

David wears depends too to help with accidents. He hates them too but it has been more than a few weeks for him so he has learned to adjust. We control his bowels with a bowel program consisting of the magic bullet others here have spoken of enemeez. You may want to check into a bowel program. His bladder is controled by supra pubic cath. I know its a hard decision but you may want to check into these as it does make things alot more bearable. If its only been a few weeks give it some time, MS plays with you and tomorrow things may be working just fine.

Hello unconstruct,

IMO, rather than trying to find a way to deal with the incontinence, I believe you should first try to find out why this started all of a sudden, as incontinence is not normal and when it starts, should be investigated. It could be constipation or impaction (where liquid stool escapes around a larger piece of stool that can't come out.)

Are you currently taking any bowel meds? You could try to give yourself a good bowel cleanout and see if it recurs and if so, consider a bowel program. seek attention immediately if you start vomitting. I would contact your MS doctor to help you develop a bowel program.

In the meantime,if the leaking is minimal, they have smaller pads that can be stuck onto underwear or thinner briefs that are more comfortable.
