Fujitsu Scansnap scanners
Does anyone have experience with these?
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...1.448_29&fsc=6 They get great reviews. I need something like this for school and general paperwork. I'm mainly wondering if the s1300 is sufficient or if it's worth it to get the s1500? Any proud owners who can weigh in?

One has been on my wish list for a while so I can cut down on paper-based clutter... just haven't really needed it yet. If it were $100 I'd own one by now.

Scott, which one would you get? I can't see them coming down that low for a long time, sadly. Reducing clutter is a big motivation for me too.

I really like the scan snap. I have an early model and my only criticism is that it doesn't do well feeding multiple papers. It skips pages. I am sure they have corrected this problem. I still love it though. When I put in a page to 'scansnap', it automatically opens Acrobat and creates a pdf file. I then can save the document or email it to someone. I even have put snapshots through it and it isn't half bad.
I would just check if they have improved the 'feeding' method for multiple pages.... now with the iphone, I have taken to just photographing a document I want to keep, if I am lazy and don't want to open the scansnap |

I have two Fujitsu Snap Scanners. One for work and one for home. They costed about $350 each, when I purchased them in 2008 and 2009. I forget the model numbers. They are the best scanners. Very fast, accurate, and reliable. Scans in color and both sides of the paper simultaneously and directly to pdf files. I don't use any other and they are the answer to a paperless office. While they do occasionally skip pages in a big stack (<20 sheets), they are quite good when it comes to short stacks (5-10 sheets). When they jam, they stop and you can resume scanning at the time of the jam. Wise. |
