CNBC said yesterday
That the reason all Stem Cell related Stocks took such a beating yesterday (and continued taking a beating in afterhours) was because "most people now realize that it is going to be at least 10 to 20 years before any Curative therapies come out of Stem Cells in Humans"
Anyhow, I just edited this message as I don't want to pull anyone else down to as low as I feel right now. I woke up this mourning though very depressed in thinking about this after seeing it on a tape re-run at midnight last night. I guess our priorities in this country are more financial related than anything else. Nobody in my family even cares to discuss the issue or brings it up. They just figure I am the way I am and thats it, nothing can be done. [This message was edited by Curtis on August 11, 2001 at 12:20 PM.] |

time frame
I've heard this 10-20 years things a number of times.
I've also heard human testing to start in 3-5 years. I also remember Dr. John McDonald also saying that it is possible to do this today. The experimental treatments being done in Russia now... are they doing something significantly different than what will be available here in 10-20 years? Is it a question of what is scientifically possible right now or is it a question of regulations, politics, etc? |
