ZRa measurements for a C5/C6 Complete

Just about ready to order the chair and seeing how it's my first manual (that I didn't buy used out of the newspaper), what do the pros think? Any measurements strike you funny? I've been measured by 3 different DME guys, sat in 4 different ZRas, and read and re-read this forum eleventy billion times =p I'm still paranoid something is going to be wrong.

16"W x 18"D
frame 1" longer then 18"D
Front Seat Height 19"
Rear Seat Height 15"
(dump 4")
Front Angle 80deg
Seat to Footrest 17"
Standard Front End (no V) -4"
Titanium Back, intergrated Push Handles, 4" Rigidizer(titanium)
Back Height 16.5" - 21" Set at 16.5
Seat Back Angle 95deg
CoG 2.5"
Rear Wheel Spacing 1"
Camber 2deg (titanium Camber Tube)
5" x 1" 2-piece, soft roll
24" RB Dino Rear, Schwalbe RightRuns (already ordered)
PushBlack Double-stuff handrims
Tension Adjustable Bolt on Seat Upholstery
Velcro Adjustable Back Upholstery replaced with: 16 x 16 JetStream Pro
9-12" Tubular Armrests
Quad Hole Standard Side Guards
Roho Low Profile Quattro

What I'm still paranoid about most is:

Maybe I should go 5" dump?
Back Height 12.5-16.5 or 16.5-21?
13" Jetstream or 16" Jetsream?
Do I need the 1" extra frame depth?

How tall are you?

I'm running 4 inches of seat dump and have the 16.5" - 21" back height (set to max height). I like the extra 1" length of frame.

Here are some pics...

The only things I question are: the 95 degree back angle, which can be changed on teh ZRA very easily. Also the 5x1" softrolls. If you are mainly on smooth surfaces etc, the 1' is okay. I go an smooth surfces and gravel etc and find the 5x1.5" aluminum softrolls are much more efficient for me.

Any special reason you are going with a Titanium back? They're fairly expensive for the amount of weight you're saving. I trust you are still getting the fabric back upholstery that comes with the chair in case you don't like the Jetstream.

6'1", 185lbs.

The dump at first was going to be 5" and the seat angle was going to be 98deg. because in the trash chair I have now I always feel like I'm falling forward. If I go up any incline and get 1 strong push I have to get someone to pull me back to more of a slouch. DME told me 98deg. was crazy but I literally have to wear a chest strap if I do any pushing at all.

The back height I have currently is 21" minus a 4" high profile Roho, it digs into my shoulder blades pretty badly, but I'm worried I'll go too low. It's like the ranges for seat back heights are right in between where I want them. I'd like the contour back top to sit right around 16" but couldn't tell you if I wanted or needed to correct it higher or lower =/

I never even considered 1" vs. 1.5". I use microcasters now and know for sure they suck. . .even the smallest crack catches me.

As for the titanium back, part is weight, admittedly part is looks, but mostly it's because I broke the back on this chair twice (because of the chest strap) and don't want to go thru that again.

Yeah, I like the 1.5" casters in the aluminum hub. The casters in the picture I posted have plastic hubs.

If you're upper body is tippy, go with the 16.5" - 21". I'm 6'4" and the max height it's just high enough for me. Just a heads up though, the posts that slide out of the titanium back are made of plastic on my chair. I would've thought Tilite would use titanium instead of flimsy plastic but I guess not. Anyway, mounting a Jetstream to the plastic posts might be fine but it might not. Just thought you should know because the plastic seat posts were a surprise to me. They wiggle around quite a bit.

Also, are you sure 16" wide will be enough?

16" wasn't wide enough 6 months ago =p My first powerchair was 16", ballooned up to my 2nd powerchair at 19", won't go back there again. But yeah measured 16" and I'm still losing weight.

A 17" back,21"-4", for you is way too tall that's why you are having a hard time sitting. A Jetstream will make it even more tippy feeling at 17". I bet you have a hard time turning and moving you shoulders due to that height.

Since you live in Seattle and are thinking on a ZRA, you may want to call Dominic or better yet just travel to Tilite and get measured. Dom. is a quad also I think and could give you some great advice.

If you are going more than 80 degrees, the seat might be too long. 80 degrees might not bre too bad. There should be a two finger space between the back of the knees and seat sling.

95degree back angle is pretty far forward. No wonder you are in a slouch and fall forward.

Don't sweat the small stuff. The most important thing is getting the width and length of the chair correct. Your back angle, height, cog can all be adjusted.

Isn't 95 degree back 5 degrees reclined not 5 deg forward of vertical?
