Is the driver working properly when you check it in the control panel?

I am dealing with that same problem right now. There are a couple things that you have to check out is a software problem or is it a hardware problem. If it is a software problem, it could be easily fixed by uninstalling it and then reinstalling it or you may have to download new drivers from the net.
If it is a hardware problem maybe, you should just call customer service because if it is not reading anything it could be a registry problem. Fooling around in a computers registry can cause many problems, if you do not know what you are doing. Dave H. |

Lewis, yes, it indicates that its working properly, and even when i remove it from the device manager i restart the computer and it reconizes again, but thats it, computer knows it's there but ignores him...
Davr, what do u mean by a registry problem? ...and the soul afraid of dyin'... That never learns to live... |

Polett,
In the Windows operating system there is a way of configuring a computer called the registry. If you have to ask what the registry means then I would suggest you stay away from it. Unless you are working with somebody who knows your operating system and computer, such as customer service representative. If you would like to see whether registry looks like, and you are running a Windows 98 or after operating system. Click on start, then run, then type REGEDIT and then press enter. Then stop yourself from doing anything that could damage or computer. Good luck, Dave H. |
