Rebechi,

I am assuming that you are referring to your messenger icon is not showing. I am not sure why your icon is not showing up. It should be. Make sure that you are logged in and that you have indicated that you do not want to be hidden (as Marmalady points out). Make sure that the information that you have entered into your profile is correct. The site checks with the messenger service to see if you are online. I have no experience with MSN messenger but I see that some people's online messenger icons do show. Perhaps this is a function of the browser. In any case, I am sure that people can see if you are online in the listing and then will messenger you if they want to.

Wise.

The problem may not be with you and your PC, but with MSN Instant Messenger. I have noticed for the past two weeks that sometimes I could not log in and then I would be offered two choices: retry, or cancel. There is another instant messenger called Trillian and this may help you.

"Trillian simplifies your chat as well as your desktop and system resources by letting you simultaneously connect with the five most popular chat clients on the Web: Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, ICQ, mIRC, and AIM. By importing your passwords, buddy lists, various client preferences, and other chat specifics into its own simple interface, Trillian acts as a single hub for all your chat traffic."

MSN Instant Messenger?
HTte first thing I do when I load one of my computers is rip that little bastard out by it's teeth.
'Cource I'm not stuck in the "must use IE and outlook expolder" loop either.
Cuts down on the "gee I wonder how I got this virus" frustrations....
