I'm using Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 7. It's working great. I've been using it for about a year and a half now, so I'm pretty comfortable with it. Learning the commands is the trick to using it efficiently. I even designed my web site totally by voice! I created custom commands for most common HTML codes, which helped a lot.

Brian,
I once had the same problem you have now. I am running the same operating system you are and also had a problem with the Windows Media Player 9. The easiest thing and best thing to do is take out Windows Media Player and then downloaded again. Dave |

Hello Brian,
I really like your web site. It looks like you have a very incomplete spinal cord injury. Keep up the good work! PN |

PN,
Thank you! Yes, my injury is very incomplete. I'm trying to strengthen what I have - I'm so close to feeding myself - I just need the ability to bridge those last two or three inches and the stamina to do it for a whole meal. Dave, Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try. |

When I use my Win 98SE partition and browse the web, Windows Media Player always conflicts with RealNetworks Player, though I've gone into the settings of both and set them to open different file types to avoid such conflicts. Since that hasn't helped, is there a way I can disable the Windows player in my browser(Mozilla?)

Alan,
Is Windows Media Player embedded into the Mozilla browser? Perhaps, you might try uninstalling Mozilla and then reinstall it. I would also like to hear from other members on this issue before you do the uninstall. PN [This message was edited by PN on 08-06-03 at 09:26 PM.] |

Alan, can you tell me what you mean by conflicting [like, when a video loads does it say "This is not the default player"]? And do you just want to disable videos in Mozilla or always use one program over the other in it?

I click on link for a video, Real comes up, then I get an error message from Windows Media Player, and no video. So, I want to disable the Windows player in Mozilla, I reckon. I believe it's a plugin.

Okie. Go to the Edit menu and then choose preferences. On the left under Category, make sure the Navigator tree is open and then click on Helper Applications. On the right, for all video/??? options choose Edit and make sure that you are opening the file with Real Player.
Let me know if it already is Real Player. -Steven |

I'll do that when I'm booted into Windows tomorrow, and let you know what I find.
