anyone use silicone external catheters

my time has run out on latex "external" latex catheters. the top keeps colapseing shut.
anyone have good luck with the silicone type? they seem more ridged.
coloplast/coveen has recently come out with the opitium, it seems like the head part looks thick, thats what i'm looking for. can anyone tell me what good luck they have had with any silicone catheters. self stick or tape. thanks

well tvot i'm 30 years post injury and i used the latex ones and i had to apply skinbond and tape for it to stay on.it was a pain in the ass, anyway my medical supply place here in the city i was told about these sillacone cathertes called wideband and so i tried it best external catherter i ever had,it has some type of adheavsive in the cath, to makeit stay on for 24 or 48 hours i mean it's that good it's just alittle stiff like all sillacone caths anyway rochester medical puts them out. there web site is the same i think thell give you some samples to try good luck

Angry Damn it

thanks for the replies. yes after skinbond went out of business life has been hell. medex supply has all the catheter mention here and will be sending out samples. i tried alot of combonations, so far urocare latex catheter with bard 2 sided tape is working really good.
the problem that made things worse than the skin bond was the fact that my dick was inflating side ways! you get it. a fat stump, where the hell is the lenght. i used sherwood 33mm close to 27 years with S&N skinbond. peed myself 6x a year. the catheter got so tight my thing ended up with a bloody ring. the urocare 35mm seem goog for now. GOOD NIGHT AUSTIN TEXAS WHERE EVER YOU ARE!

Dude, you totally have to check out Urodrys website. They are latex condom catheters but they blow everyone I have ever tried out of the water. They have thier own built in reservoir and attach to leg and bed bags. You can read the thread I posted about them in my threads section. They now have sticky double sided silicone straps that hold it on for good and wont cut off circulation to your "helmet" LOL. I would seriously check them out and they will give you free samples to try so whats to lose? And no, I don't work for them.

If you are allergic to latex, you should not be using most Skin Bond type products, as they are also full of latex.

We use the Rochester Wideband and Rochester Ultraflex (both non-latex) external condom catheters (ECCs) with great success, and do not need to use an additional adhesive. We use either Hollister or Mentor skin protective wipes underneath, although I actually prefer the 3M No-Sting Protective Barrier swabs. None of these improve adhesion, but they do protect your skin from both urine and the adhesive itself.
