Hellish weekend-what
Hellish weekend- what's going on?
I had an attack of I don't know what, this weekend. I live alone in the country. I thought of calling 911 because I didn't want to drag myself to the car and to the hospital. This "whatever it is" attack is the third one of about 2 years. Symptoms: left side of belly and left thigh warm and dry while the right side of belly and right thigh is cold and clammy belly is hard and sticking out back pain felt feverish (but didn't check with thermometer) whole body in pain including head dry heaving (but almost nothing in stomach and it seems harder to throw up being T7 complete) these symptoms lasted 1.5 days BM's seemed limited in days preceding Nurse or others- any ideas? I feel better, now. But, don't want to go through this again!

Hi Rich,
I don't really have any suggestions beyond maybe being impacted, but I'm sorry you have had such a lousy weekend. Hope the new weeks brings continued improvement! |

Thanks, Eileen. Hopefully, things will continue to be better.
To add to the saga, I've just finished phase one of clean up after messy diarrhea. Now, I have to get in the shower to complete phase 2! Also, last week I met Jody (from CareCure). We had a good time. We went to a local farm at bought some vegetables. I got 4 ears of corn. I asked if she wanted some, but, she didn't take any, in the end. I ate 3 ears in one sitting and another the next day. Maybe that screwed up my system!

I am concerned that you have something more serious going on in your belly than just impaction or severe constipation. If you are still having symptoms, take your temperature. If it is elevated, get to the ER and get an abdominal ultrasound or CT. An impaction will not cause a fever.

Thankyou KLD,
I'm going to see Dr. Formal, tomorrow. Since I feel better, I imagine there won't be much to do. On the other hand, maybe he'll decide to order tests, xrays or something.

I got caught in a big traffic jam because of construction. Dr. Formal couldn't see me.
Last night I started feeling bad, again. I went to the ER. After 8 hours of waiting and tests they sent me home. They said my small intestine has some tight loops that are distended. I need to follow up with my doctor.

I will, Teena.
I was active around the house, today. After a week of rest it feels good to move around. But, I feel weak.
