I wonder what is " the state of the art" at the moment

Donnie: Dr. Xiao, What are your thoughts on a cure/combination therapy for SCI's??
CG Xiao: Donnie, I don't want to disappoint you, but I think it is impossible to restore the continuity of the cord or "bridge the gap" in the near future, let's say: 50 years. Dr Wise Young has been my most respected scientist in SCI. He has dedicated and contributed to SCI no other can match.

How many times did you do something that your parents told you wouldn't work and you did it anyways? It's trial and error. They need to learn from their mistakes. And at least they're doing something, instead of sitting passively!

I suppose they will do the trials, publish results, and in 10 years they will have an academically produced answer in a glossy booklet that the researchers are proud of. . Probably they will work out that physiotherapy alone produces some results in almost everybody and announce the whole thing a success. What a waste of taxpayers money.

There is no taxpayers money involved! Has all been fund-raised...
