I'm a t4 also. I was taught the usual bp routine at rehab. I tired quickly of the wasted hours, messes, etc.
I stopped the suppositories and digital stimulation cold turkey one day about 6months or so after injury. I go in the morning and evening, just a glove and lube. If I can reach it, it goes. When I have emptied what is there(no stim) I am done. Takes just a minute or two. No fuss, no mess with suppositories and butt snot 2 hours later. Been doing it this way since 1996 with NO problems.
I am skinny as a rail, I fall in if I get on a commode. I use the bed, and once again, no mess, no worries. You may want to try this sometime.
I use wal mart plastic bags to transport it to the commode.

There are a few of us here who use this simple routine.

Some Really Great ideas, Thank you Much everyone. Gives me more research to do but great to be moving forward instead of "chasing my tail". Takes the fear out of trying new things. The Mitrofanoff and Augmentation of my bladder and possably a hysterectomy(due to other complications) are the surgeries I'm looking at. I'm set to see some specialists at the end of the month to see if i qualifie and what all my options are. Kind of scary but at this point my life is at a complete DeadStop!

Really great meeting all of you and looking forward to more conversations hopefully on more enjoyable topics. Although camping will be great when i get to go again. It's been a REALLY Long time. Can't wait.

I'm t4 too and just use the toilet in the accessible hotel room & the shower bench they provide. Don't need all that extra equipment like rolling shower chair. Maybe you should try just using your toilet at home instead of on the chair.

I'm leaving for camping on Monday & stay at a state park. They have an accessible bathroom that is like a lil building to yourself so its not uncomfortable having to share with others. I just take a shower bench to sit on & again use the toilet.

In regards to your bladder..have you tried botox? Works great for me. Mitrofanoff is a major surgery.

Look into the nuprodx chair KLD recommended. It assembles in a minute or two (I use the non-rolling model), it is light and perfectly accepted as a carry on in airplanes. It is expensive, but I have had mine for 5 1/2 years with no problems at all. Now they even have an improved design.

to gurly2356, and others who are able to use the toilet: How do you do that? Is it like what KLD described were you lean forward on your chair? I Haven't tried this yet. I have tried getting on the toilet to cath, and just the transfer alone was an ordeal. the toilet is so low to my chair(my transfers aren't the greatest), i cant get back in my chair without help or a safety bars on Both sides of the toilet (i've seen that in only One place). I cant get my pants back on, nomatter what acrobatics i tried. Also, public bathrooms dont have a back to it or is so nasty i wouldnt lean on it. Cant cath without something to lean on. But back to bowel program: There's not much room to reach behind me, how do you do this without touching the poopy glove all over yourself?

Can you cath from your w/chair? Consider putting velcro or a zip in the crotch of your pants, no more up and down all day.

The 20" wheels on the Go-Anywhere SP, which is the self-propel-lable model from GO! Mobility Solutions, can now be mounted on the front or the rear of the chair, at the user's option. No tools are required; it's simply a matter of slipping the wheel assemblies into either the front or the rear leg sockets.

I cath from my wheelchair with a board. My dad made me a board that folds up & can fit into a bag on the back of my chair. If just at home you could use a sliding board if a good size. What I do is place the board on the toilet. (With pants down) Put both legs up onto the board. Then I scooch my butt to the edge of my chair so my legs frog out & then I'm able to get in to cath. I use the long male catheters, just put the end in the toilet and pee right into the toilet.

Velcro or invisible zipper in the crotch of ur pants would be very helpful if you are unable to get ur pants down in ur chair.

I'm another happy user of the nuprodx shower/commode chair. Yes, its expensive, but it packs up great and has made travel a lot better for me. I'm a T6 para
