The episode was good, especially sensitivity and understanding of the guy doing the '30 Days'. He seemed to ave a willingness to understand the issues and explore a bit more of it on screen, than the actual guy in the wheelchair. The guy (or someone) made a distinction between quads from lower injuries and how much more this can impact lives and function as well. It's been awhile since I saw it, but overall I liked it, although the sci guy was annoying and putting too much "On" for the camera.

30 Days is a pretty good show. One of the Eps which probably had the players really engaged and not only learn, but sincerely internalize and empathize, was the Christian-Muslim one.

Your mind and your ATTITUDE and what you choose to focus on can have more of an impact on your your satisfaction than your limitations. YOu can have a perfectly functioning body and not FEEL a thing, or a body that doesnt actually function or feel, but can experience and give great joy.

I am a sister and friend of two lovely women who sometimes need chair to get around. Although I don't know and can't imagine how hard it is for you all, I give you much respect and props! Couple of years ago I took a trip to Europe with my friend with her chair. Let me say it opened my eyes to some of the difficulties she had getting around. Europe not known to be disabled friendly...hence, cobblestone and no ramps made it harder. Had to get chair we called 'shay shay' thru turnstyles, metro rail, stores...la la la. I was like, damn...just the simple everyday routine can be stressful. Much love to you all..keep the great attitude going!

I'm sure you all know this, but you seem to forget. There's quite a big difference in sexual function, sensation, response...between males versus females, different injury levels and complete versus incomplete. You keep stating majority of SCI this and majority of SCI that. I think you would be more accurate stating the majority of incomplete injuries above "x". I would bet that the majority of complete male injuries at or below T-10 do not come close to your experiences.

kbailey,

there have been studies on women with sci showing they are more able to have satisfying sex because for some reason the sesation in that area is wired in such a way that it isn't directly stemmed from the spinal cord. however, it's definitely possible for female scis to have sensation problems with their clitoris, which is relevant to males who also have sensation issues because just as men have nipples due to a developmental stage in the womb, women have the clitoris because if they became male in the womb, the clitoris would become a penis.

since i'm not a guy, i can't relate to what it's like to have the injury affect my sex life in that way, but i'm sure it's truly frustrating to not be able to go at it like before the injury. however, i think there are different strategies that could help.

Yes, I believe I have seen some of those same studies. Plus I've read the studies on completes versus incompletes and the studies on success between different injury levels. I am certainly open to hearing of any strategies, especially if they are "alternative"...by that I mean something like FES....I contacted FES of Cleveland because of work they are doing on B&B...they have nothing right now for sexual function but believe they may be close.... I just recently started a post in R&S to see if there are any people with similar injuries to mine that are having any success in this area. Hoping for some responses.

I'm not trying to poo poo other peoples success....I'm simply stating that I have yet to read or experience much for T-10/12 completes.
