Yes, I've use a set of these for around the backyard. Terrain ranging from grass, mulch, sand, to hard packed dirt, exposed roots, etc. They swap out fine for both 559 and 540, neither is a perfect match but this set seems to run right in the middle between them, imo.

507s are the same size as bmx i think, kids mb anyway. so it shouldnt be hard to get tubes or extra tires for - and you can get some funky colours in 507. schwalbe also make a great off road tyre which is 507 called wild thing - its wheelchair specific, and the edge next to the handrim is smooth so it doesnt rub your hands when you push.

I have a set of them I use. They work really well in the grass outside. I manage to tweak my chair so I can just swap them out w/ my regular tires. The settings aren;t perfect for either, but work.

I've found that I much prefer 26" mountain bike tires, which mount on 25" wheelchair wheels (go figure). I just like the size, & feel more comfortable out & about using them. Do keep in mind that these tires will often raise the rear STF height by 1-1.25" over something like a Primo tire on a 25" rim.

I've recently started using the Tundra off road set from Rogue Wheels. I'm very pleased with them. The Tundra incorporates an offset hub design which allows the wider knobby to tire to run at the same wheel spacing as the every day tire. With my other off road set I had to run the every day tire at a wider spacing than optimal so the knobbies would fit, on the occasion I had to use them, but not with the Tundra. The offset hub is a great idea, allowing wider 'lawn tires' to be added to most any chair with no modification at all.
