KLD - Question on Pressure sore

KLD, Tim has a rash between the right shoulder blade, it started 3 weeks ago. Today he went to VA hospital and the dermatologist said it is possible a pressure sore. She believes it may cause by the manual wheelchair which it made sense because he used the manual wheelchair all day a day before we discovered the rash. It first looked like a ringworm, then it looked like a burn. He immediately saw his nurse practitioner the next day and she put hydrocolloid Dressing on.
What should we do? should we take him to Seattle VA SCI center so they can look at his manual chair and make adjustment?

I definitely would have his chair looked at as soon as you can. It is not unusual for the equipment to need to be adjusted periodically to accomodate for changes in weight, spasticity, etc.

I would also advise that if they think that is the culprit, that he probably shouldn't use it until you get it checked out.

thank you, he has been using the power chair more often. He also has another appointment with the dermatologist next week and we also discussed with his social worker late Friday regarding the adjustment for his wheelchair.
